What
is the Drive Home Service?
Drive
Home is a unique service only available from Car Back in the Dorset area.
The service is designed to enable you to get you and your car home safely,
should you be unable to drive yourself. If you have consumed too much
alcohol to drive yourself home, give us a call, tell us where and when
you would like to be collected from. We will then send one of our cars
to you, with two drivers in it. One drvier will get into your vehicle
with you and your passengers and drive you homw safely, whilst the other
driver will follow behind and pick the driver up once you have finished
with him.
We
are also available to pick you up in your car should you feel unable to
drive yourself. If you have had to visit a hospital and feel to unwell
to drive yourself or you have been uinvolved in a minor car accident,
or for any reason at all you do not want to drvie yourself, then give
us a call and we will get send a driver to you.

We
also offer the Car Back service outside of the following hours, by prior
appointment only, with at least 24 hours notice.

7.30pm - 12.30am
Tuesday 7.30pm - 1.30am
Wednesday 7.30pm - 1.30am
Thursday 7.30pm - 2.30am
Friday 7.30pm - 3.30am
Saturday 7.30pm - 3.30am
Sunday 7.30pm - 12.30am
Our
Drivers
Our
drivers are all over 30 years of age and have had years of experience,
driving many different types of vehicles. They are trained to a high standard
and are both polite and courteous.
Costs
The
cost of using the Drive Home service is based on how many miles you travel,
very similar to how you are charged when using a taxi. There is a pickup
charge of £5 at the start of the journey and then you are charged
£3.50 for each mile you travel up to 10 miles, after 10 miles the
rate drops to £2.00 per mile. There is a minimum charge of £15.50,
which covers the first 3 miles. Pickups after midnight incur a charge
of an extra £5.00.
Example:
A journey from Bournemouth to Poole is 6 miles, so the cost for this would
be £5.00 pickup charge
plus 6 miles @ £3.50 per mile = Total cost of £26.00.
Insurance
All
Car Back drivers are covered by our Fully Comprehensive Insurance policy,
which allows them to drive any kind of vehicle regardless of its value.
We are very proud of the fact that we have never had to make a claim on
our insurance policy, as we have never caused any damage to a clients
vehicle.
